Quick Indian Cooking is a lively blog written by Mallika Basu. Since starting her blog Mallika has become the rising star of Indian Cooking and is often in demand for media appearances. Her blog receives numerous comments and about 20,000 visits a month. The real credit goes to Mallika for her hard work and lively writing style - but we worked with her right from the start on this project to make sure that her efforts have been channeled the right way.

We suggested that she use a name and URL that contained key words - and she came up with “Quick Indian Cooking”. Mallika quickly understood the concepts of online networking - including linking out to other food blogs and commenting on them. All this helped her build up her network and get her blog known. (Some people find the concept of linking-out to other sites to be counter-intuitive, but it works).

We’ve added a few custom features to her blog - see the Ajax-powered gram converter in the sidebar, and the fly-up tips in the recipe archives.

Quick Indian Cooking really shows that blogging can boost your profile and get you known in your chosen field - and you don’t have to name your blog after yourself !
