Blog Relations
Off to Seattle
I haven’t said much here recently about our Exbiblio project. I’m off to Seattle again this Sunday – a rather last minute decision, but it seems that things are getting interesting there.
Some of my posts on the Exbiblio blog have been a bit too wordy. I sometimes pull my punches a bit. It feels so rotten to keep bashing away at a brave and admirable company that is behind schedule and over budget, and facing some tough decisions – especially as they are paying me to write about them.
They have some interesting perspectives on doing business – and not least an absolute faith that it’s the product that counts most, not necessarily how you market it. In fact, they don’t really like the idea of traditional marketing – and they wouldn’t have asked us to blog about them if they did! They are prepared to reveal their finances, design plans, more or less anything. They are building high-tech hardware, and that’s a notorious drain on the resources of a small company.
At least one thing. Exbiblio contrasts well with those companies that pay fake bloggers to write nice things about them.
Good you are coming. We have Falstaffs sending images and text through the system now, and should be able to give you a bit of the fever when you get here….
