Toxic Blogs

Zdnet claims that blogs are turning toxic.  A bit of an exageration, I hope.  It says that blogs are a perfect place to hide malicious Trojan horses that can jump onto your computer as you pass by.  Anyone can set up a blog on say Blogger, and provide scanty ID.  In this way it’s a better launching pad for nefarious deeds than a traditional hosting company (such as the one that this blog is on) which needs verification of who you are.

If you don’t have an up-to-date anit-virus package on your computer, get one now.  This is doubly important if you publish your email address on a blog because it won’t be long before some nasty people start sending you viruses.  I get a few everyday.  I just press delete on my Yahoo! email account when I see an obviously evil attachment.

And by the way, I’m looking forward to Yahoo! improving its email services - which I believe it’s currently doing.  It’s high time it caught up with Gmail.
