Technorati - search engine and more
Technorati aims to be the Google of blogs. It’s not as fast or as elegant as the world’s favourite search engine, but its pretty important in the world of blogs. It tracks seven million of them, and says the number is rising fast.
Here’s a little of what it says about itself:
“Technorati displays what’s important in the blogosphere — which bloggers are commanding attention, what ideas are rising in prominence, and the speed at which these conversations are taking place.”
As with many blog technologies, Technorati makes use of ‘tags’ (single words to describe a topic) to filter material. It reveals the most talked about topics of the moment and tracks trends. You can sign up for a free account and set up your own page to watch your favourite blogs.
